ELECTION NERVES

I'm being a little angsty about not being in the US right now. It's not really that big of a problem so I'm trying to make myself get over it - maybe blogging is my coping mechanism. Election days are so fun!!! The whole day whatever you're doing is completely secondary to the races. I've never been so pout-y about the time difference either.... WASHINGTON, APPROVE REFERENDUM 74 PLEASE!!!!

Like I've said before, Denmark is definitely going wild about the election as well. A bit TOO wild, some have thought. So many of Denmark's - fairly small number - of reporters are in the US right now rather than reporting on Denmark. Yeah, it's important for the whole world but many of my Danish friends are a little peeved at the incessant coverage because it's not like politics are frozen over here. I took some photos of the second-tier type newspapers lying around in the cafe where I was today shown below. Of course there's also actual election coverage about more than babies and how Michele is a dream woman, but this is more entertaining....

"The baby trick works - in the US". This headline is making fun of Denmark's last President in the middle. He was handed that baby by the girl's mother who then asked something along the lines - she can't see her father in this country more than three months out of six because of the new laws you enacted, what do you think of that? He said, "I don't know who her father is". That didn't give him too many 'he gets people' points, needless to say. Or humanity points.

I wonder what Obama and that kid are looking at?

"Babies can help determine the election"

"My dream woman" - spoiler alert: it's Michele Obama.
